PROJECT OVERVIEW
STRETTO is a powerful Twitch extension that allows viewers to work together to call up any type of media during a livestream. The extension is extremely versatile, and we struggled to best communicate STRETTO's value to different types of streamers.
MY ROLE
I led my team to define the ideal customer to target with the website. I wrote all copy for the website, built the site layout, information architecture, and built the site in Squarespace with custom CSS, and maintain and regularly update the site.
EMPATHIZE |
The website needed to fulfill two specific purposes quickly, while keeping our brand identity. First, the website needed to communicate the purpose of STRETTO. Next, we needed to clearly show how to install and use the product.
At launch, we did not clearly define the ideal target customer, making customer acquisition quite slow. I ran a study of potential users, asking them to view the website, then report how they would use STRETTO. I quickly realized that the site needed to clearly define an ideal use case for STRETTO and quickly communicate it. |
DEFINE |
After talking with users about the STRETTO website, I settled on two guiding questions to frame the design of the website.
1. How might we quickly convince users that STRETTO is an invaluable tool for their livestreams? 2. How might we help new users get up and running as quickly as possible? |
IDEATE |
I used Miro to gather ideas for the homepage from my team, then grouped the ideas into affinity groups. Two key decisions came out of the ideation sessions.
1. We would target musicians first. We had the best user testing feedback from musicians, so it made the most sense to explicitly direct the website towards livestreaming musicians. 2. We would communicate the setup experience in multiple ways with multiple levels of fidelity. We opted to create both simple and detailed setup explainers. We would also create videos that showed the setup process both quickly and in great detail. |
PROTOTYPE |
I sketched wireframes for page layouts on paper and ran them by my team. This allowed us to quickly establish how we would organize information across multiple pages while maintaining consistency.
Designs incorporated the existing branding we established while building the app, ensuring a consistent brand identity across our product and website. |
BUILD |
After clarifying the target customer, and wireframing the website, I built the website, applying the brand's visual identity to all pages. The website is updated regularly, as we continue to iterate, and refine our product offerings.
