THE PROJECT
This is a companion website for VENUE, an app for a fictional iconic, arena size music venue outside of a major metropolitan area in the US. The venue hosts major events with over 10,000 attendees and caters mostly to top-tier music acts. The app allows users to order food and drink to be delivered to their seats. This website functions as a standard ticketing website, to allow ticket purchases.
PROJECT DURATION: May 2022

RESEARCH
I conducted a competitive audit of websites for several iconic music venues throughout the United States. I also conducted user interviews with users who regularly attend concerts to learn the pain points of purchasing a concert ticket online.
PAIN POINTS
FEES
Users universally shared strong dislike for the high ticketing fees charged by major ticketing services. While this consideration falls outside of the UX design, it is a valuable business insight. |
SIMPLICITY
Users wanted a website that was simple to navigate and easy to use to purchase tickets. |
PARKING
Users wanted to expedite entry to the parking lot. I added a way for users to purchase parking passes with their tickets if desired. |
WIREFRAMES
USABILITY STUDY
Users wanted the option of changing their seats after purchase to be closer to other friends going to the concert.
|
Users wanted more information about performers they might not know, but not too much information that it would take too long to digest.
|
Users wanted tickets sent to them via email, and also to have the tickets automatically appear within the VENUE mobile app.
